Girls clinch all top positions in BSc exams
KARACHI: All the top three positions in the BSc (pass) part-I/both parts annual examinations-2008 were clinched by students of the DHA Degree College for Women.
The results were announced by the University of Karachi on Wednesday.
Asma Hanif, daughter of Mohammad Hanif secured first position with 1,308 out of 1,600 marks (81.75 per cent); Muneeza Abdul Quddus, daughter of Abdul Quddus Memon, second position with 1,141 out 1,400 marks (81.50 per cent); and Mehreen Muhammad Iqbal, daughter of Mohammad Iqbal third position with 1,291 out of 1,600 marks (80.69 pc).
Statistics of the results show that only 33.63 per cent of the candidates were declared passed. A total of 4,154 candidates appeared in the examinations and the number of successful candidates stood at only 1,395.
According to the breakup, 470 candidates secured first division, 802 got second division and 123 secured third division.
The University of Karachi has notified that the registration forms of BA/BCom/BOL and BSc improvement of division will be accepted from July 13 to August 3 against a fee of Rs1,800, agencies add.
Change of subject will be allowed till August 13.
