Girl accuses stepfather of sexually abusing her
JAMSHORO: September 05 2006: In a bestial act a father allegedly ravished the virginity of his teenaged stepdaughter here on Monday (Sept 04). The 14-year-old girl, Kishwar, d/o Muhammad Munshi, resident of Gareebad Colony adjacent to the Bihar Colony of Kotri, alleged on Monday (Sept 04) that her stepfather Nisar Ahmed Mahar and his friend Ali Murad Mahar have raped her.
The Kotri police registered the case on the complaint of the victim’s real father Muhammad Munshi. Kishwar was later taken to the Taluka Hospital Kotri for medical test. The test result is likely within the next 24 hours. Soon after registering the FIR the police raided Nisar Ahmed’s residence in Bhittai Colony Kotri, but the accused along with his accomplice, Ali Murad Mahar, escaped. Kishwar told this correspondent that she used to visit her stepfather’s place to see her real mother, Hanifan.
“On Monday (Sept 04) when I came to see my mother, but she was out on some errand. However, my stepfather, Nisar Ahmed Mahar, finding me alone raped me and threatened me hush up the incident,” she said between sobs. Later, her stepfather’s friend Ali Murad Mahar, who also lives in the same house, came to know about the incident and started blackmailing Kishwar that he would make the incident public if she did not entertain his lascivious desire.
“He kept on blackmailing me until I gave in. He raped me by force in the same house while both my mother and stepfather were out,” the victim said. However, the rapists made it a routine, forcing her to disclose the whole story to her mother, Hanifan, who advised her to keep mum and stop visiting her. After a few days the accused started sending messages to her and one day her real father, Muhammad Munshi, got hold of one such message. “He asked me about the matter and I narrated to him my ordeal,” she said.
Muhammad Munshi, who works as a cock at a factory in the Kotri SITE area, told The News that his erstwhile spouse, Hanifan, got “Khula” from him through a civil court and married Nisar Ahmed Mahar. “I’ve seven children from Hanifan. Three are living with me, while four are with Hanifan,” he said, adding that he has filed a lawsuit to seek the possession of the remaining children. According to Munshi a few days ago he noticed symptoms of pregnancy in his daughter and enquired about it.
“My daughter started weeping and in a tear-choked voice narrated the savagery of Nisar Ahmed Mahar and Ali Murad Mahar,” the depressed father said and begged for justice. RQ Narejo, an activist of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Jamshoro district, said they would take action after gathering facts about the incident.
The district police officer Jamshoro, Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi, said the rapists would be brought into the dock after the medical test report. The district coordinator officer, Muhammad Khawar Jamil, said if found guilty the culprits would be brought to justice. UC Nazim Kotri Syed Aamir Shah was of the view that all the accused should be brought to the court before doing anything else.
