Five killed over Karo-Kari

SUKKUR,March 15,2005: Four people, including two women, were killed on the pretext of Karo-Kari at Sardar Liaquat Khan Mazari in the precinct of Shah Wali police, Punjab, near Guddu, on Sunday midnight. Another woman was killed on the same pretext in Thull area.

Ruheel Khan Bulhani Marhata and Ali Nawaz Marhata along with their accomplices gunned down their daughters-in-law, Shari w/o Ali Nawaz and Rabia Khatoon w/o Imdad Ali.

Later, they also killed their suspected paramours, Raza Muhammad Mithani Mazari and Kamaluddin Chakrani Bugti and fled.A heavy contingent of police from Shah Wali, Bangla Acha, Bhong and Rojhan police stations reached the spot, but no arrests were ascertained.

SHO Shah Wali Jawed Akhtar told newsmen that the suspects threw the bodies in the river.In a similar incident, a man killed his wife at village Gulzar Banglani in Thull police station jurisdiction on Sunday night.

Ali Hassan Banglani said he suspected the character of his wife Bello, 17, and he along with his other accomplices attacked her with hatchets and sticks. She was injured seriously and died while being shifted to hospital. Manzoor Jatoi Banglani, brother of the slain woman, has registered a case against five persons, including Ali Hassan Banglani, Umeed Ali Banglani, Gulzar Banglani, Master Banglani and Baqa Muhammad Banglani, but no arrests were reported.

Manzoor told newsmen they had a bloody dispute with the accused party, and his sister was married off to Ali Hassan, as a fine for reconciliation.
