Efforts afoot to promote culture
SUKKUR: Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Palejo on Sunday said that Sufisim is a complete message of harmony and is based on the principles of equality and peace. She said that the Culture Department is taking all kinds of efforts to promote this culture.
She was addressing a National Literary Conference at the Sachal Complex in connection with the 191st Urs celebrations of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast at Daraz Sharif in Ranipur.
She said that Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast, Shah Inayat Shaheed, Sami, Shah Abdul Karim and others promoted human values and they condemned extremism in their poetry. She said that the Culture Department is organizing a national-level conference regarding conservation of the historical architectural sites of Sindh and to promote the ancient history of Sindh.
She advised researchers and intellectuals to carry on their research the scientific way so as to earn a good name in the world through their research. She said that the Culture Department is taking all kinds of efforts to promote culture as well as to organise national and international-level conferences on the mystic poets.
She said that the department is also taking all kinds of efforts to preserve the writing, poetry and other works of the poets. She said the previous government did not pay attention to cultural activities.
