Duty on newsprint withdrawn
ISLAMABAD- The Government has withdrawn 2.5 per cent excise duty on import of newsprint with immediate effect, it was officially announced here Tuesday.
The provision of cash margin of 30 per cent in LC for import of newsprint has also been done away with. The decision has been taken to facilitate and provide relief to the newspaper industry in the face if sudden and sharp increase in prices of newsprint in the international market.
