Dubai IT expo
KARACHI: The Gitex Dubai 2007 has proved to be a significant platform for the Pakistani companies as it has helped them in increasing interaction with business executives, professionals, individuals and trade bodies from different parts of the world.
Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) along with a 10-member delegation of companies participated in the expo. The PSEB set up a Pakistani pavilion, which was totally customised.
In addition, Pakistan IT Forum of Dubai invited all the Pakistani companies to a networking evening. The presentations given by Pakistani IT companies in terms of showcasing their developments and innovations secured a remarkable niche in the event.
There was a huge interest from Dubai-based as well as international companies to set up business facilities in Pakistan and form business alliances with the local IT companies.
Pakistan has set an ambitious target of taking the size of the local IT sector to $10 billion by 2010 from the current figure of over $2 billion.
