Dr Ata directs to submit Draft e-commerce laws within four weeks
ISLAMABAD- The Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Prof. Atta-Ur-Rahman, has directed to submit draft E-commerce laws to the law Division within four weeks and to put the laws on the web for comments before the end of this month.
The minister chaired the Information Technology (IT) Action Plan review meeting, which was attended by Ishfaq Ahmed Khan, Secretary IT& Telecom Division, Rector Comsats Salman Ansari, Adviser MOsT Abdul Rahim Alvi and other senior official of the ministry.
The minister expressed his dissatisfaction at the pace of important projects launched by IT and Telecom sector Division and asked the heads of concerned departments to expedite the implementation.
The minister directed to immediately appoint rector for virtual university. He also asked the officials to remove obstacles in the way of giving Petroman the status of a university and setting up of IT university in Abbottabad.
The meeting also gave the deadline to complete IT park at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore before June 7.
The minister directed the department to submit complete plan for setting up of IT park at a newly completed Evacuee Trust Building, adjacent to the FPSC building.
