CPNE meets in Lahore on 14th
KARACHI- The annual general meeting of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) will be held in Lahore on June 14 at 11.45am under the chairmanship of its president, Mr Mujibur Rahman Shami.
The agenda for the meeting includes a review of government- press relations. The meeting will also hear the annual report on the working of the CPNE from Secretary-General Mahmudul Aziz.
After consideration of resolutions received, the meeting will hold elections to the standing committee of the CPNE which comprises 30 members. The newly elected standing committee will proceed with the election of president, senior vice-president, vice-president, general secretary, joint secretary and finance secretary of the CPNE for the year 2003-2004.
The secretary-general has announced that only those members of the CPNE council will be eligible to take part in the elections and vote who have cleared the annual subscription for the year 2003 and any arrears. The last date for the clearance of the annual subscription and dues is June 10.
The annual general meeting of the CPNE will be proceeded by an extraordinary general body meeting to consider amendments received for the organization’s constitution.
