Benefit show for senior singer
HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation organised a benefit show for senior folk singer Zeenat Shaikh at the Radio Pakistan`s Hyderabad station on Saturday evening.
PBC director-General Murtaza Solangi announced monthly stipend of Rs10,000 for her and gave her the first cheque of the stipend.
Singers, musicians and people from different walks of life also presented gifts and cash to the senior artiste.
Mumtaz Lashari, Zulfikar Ali and Mazhar Ali, Taj Mastani, Deeba Seher and Reshman Parveen presented songs, including those sung by Zeenat Shaikh. Banjo player Mohammad Aziz gave a solo performance.
Provincial Information Adviser Sharmila Farooqui, prominent columnist Kamran Shafi and renowned writer Ibrahim Joyo attended the programme.
