BA resolution on new provinces withdrawn

QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly withdrew a resolution on new provinces when the House resumed session after two days recess here on Tuesday. Speaker Aslam Bhotani chaired the session.

The resolution was moved by PML MPA Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel. Moving his resolution, Jaffar Mandokhel said that owing to discussion and new statements over creation of new provinces on ethnic basis in the country was creating negative impacts.

He said federal government should take concrete measures to resolve this issue on political basis because country cannot afford more unpleasant crises any more. Speaking on the admissibility of the resolution Jaffar Mandokhel said new provinces would do nothing in the country therefore all the political parties should oppose this move. He said if new provinces were created in the country it would confront more crises. He said provinces should be created on linguistic basis rather on administrative basis.

India and Afghansitan have much more provinces but Bangladesh is one province. Provincial minister Zamrak Achakzai, Aslam Bizenjo, Haji Nawaz Khan, Syed Ehsan Shah, Tariq Masoori Bugti, Habibur Rehman Muhammad Hasni, Shah Nawaz Marri, Abdul Rehman Mengal, Zahoor Buledi spoke on the resolution.

Syed Ehsan Shah proposed to withdraw the resolution as several parliamentary leaders were not present in the House. Mover Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel did not oppose and resolution was withdrawn. Later Member of Panel of Chairmen Abdul Rehman Jamali who was chairing the session adjourned the House till Friday.
