Artists highlight child abuse, flaws in politics
ISLAMABAD: An exhibition featuring works of Aisha Rahim and Safdar Qureshi started on Thursday at Rohtas Art Gallery.
The two young artists are graduates from National Collage of Arts (NCA) and paint different subjects in their individual style, using mixed media.
Rahim depicted psychology of a child who has a feeling of isolation and fear after being sexually abused. She used different child games and handprints to convey her message.
Raheem told Daily Times that the issue of child abuse was seldom discussed in society and it should be highlighted through art works. “Several fears overcame a child after being sexually abused, which directly or indirectly affect his mental and physical growth,” she said.
Qureshi expressed disappointment over political setup of the country and depicted it through his work.
