Arrangements finalised for re-polling in Hangu

PESHAWAR (February 24 2008): Arrangements have been finalised for holding of re-polling at three polling stations at a national assembly constituency (NA: 16) and Provincial Assembly (PF: 42) in Hangu District. Re-polling is scheduled for February 25 while army has been called to maintain peace during elections.

It merits a mention here that polling on three polling stations including 80, 81 and 82 were halted after snatching of ballot paper and boxes by some miscreants at gunpoint. After the incident, Election Commission had announced holding of re-election on these polling stations on February 25 (Monday).

In all a total of 4442 votes are registered in these polling stations out of which 1778 votes were polled. In the provincial assembly constituency (PF: 42), an independent candidate, Hussain Ali Shah Al-Hussani has an edge over Attiqur Rehman of only 44 votes.
