APNS delegation calls on Tareen
ISLAMABAD: An eight-member delegation of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), led by APNS President Mujibur Rehman Shami met Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tareen on Thursday.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the APNS members informed Tareen of the problems of taxation and other issues being faced by the newspaper industry. The delegation also presented a number of suggestions for the development of the industry in Pakistan.
Tareen assured the delegation that the government wanted to encourage the development of print media as an industry, and would resolve the genuine problems and issues being faced by them. He directed the Federal Board of Revenue to look into the taxation issues and resolve them as soon as possible.
