Abduction, rape case booked after 18 months

DASKA, February 05 2006: The Sadar police have registered an abduction and rape case after one and a half year of the incident on Saturday February 4.

Reportedly, accused, Muhammad Akhtar, his brother, Shams Iqbal, and mother, Khurshid Bibi, kidnapped Misbah Nasreen daughter of a landowner of village Rajokay, Muhammad Arshad, on August 19, 2004 from village Jessarwala when she was going to a local private school for education.

They took her to an unknown place where the accused Muhammad Akhtar forcibly and repeatedly raped her at gunpoint for several days, besides, getting her signatures on white papers.

Later, the accused left her and announced that he and the victim have been married, a claim, which the victim’s family termed untrue.

The later approached the police for the registration of case, which they booked (No 64/2006) under Sections 10/11 and7/79.

The affected family has appealed for the immediate arrest of the influential accused who are yet to be arrested and are allegedly threatening the family with dire consequences for reporting the matter to the police.
