Aaj Kal photographer wins award
LAHORE: Malik Shafiq Awan has won the first prize for the best photograph on the issue of child labour by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
The awards were given in a special ceremony organised by the federal minister of information and broadcasting and ILO in Islamabad on Friday.
Hundreds of entries were received from different parts of the country in three categories, namely photojournalism, print and broadcast media. Malik Shafiq Awan of daily Aaj Kal was given the first prize in the photojournalism category for the year 2009-10 while Aaj Kal reporter Gonilla Gill won the third prize in the print category.
