3G/4G licence memorandum next month
ISLAMABAD: The consultant hired for finalising the auction of 3G/4G licences will finalise its Information Memorandum (IM) within the first 10 days of the next month.
The consultant has also been assigned to recommend the allocation of additional frequency for launch of 4G through upcoming auction which will increase revenues for the government.
“The consultant is going to finalise its IM within the first 10 days of February 2014,” a senior official of Ministry of Information Technology told The News here on Tuesday night.
The Ministry of Information Technology convened a consultative meeting with the CEOs of cellular companies on the auction of 3G/4G licences here on Tuesday.
The meeting was convened on the request of CEO of telecoms as they wanted to give their inputs to the hired consultant before they unveiled their IM.
When contacted, MoIT officials said that the IM would be released very soon and the auction would be done before end of March.
