Shazia, Kainat honoured at fifth Ladiesfund Women’s Awards
Hosted by Dawood Global Foundation in partnership with Dawood Capital Management Ltd, the fifth Ladiesfund Women’s Awards for Pakistan ceremony was held at The Mohatta Palace Museum, Karachi, with 300 of the most influential women in Pakistan in attendance.
Chief guests included First Women Bank Ltd’s President Shaqfat Sultana and Poetress of Pakistan Zehra Nigah, who was also the Lifetime Achievement Winner. This event was sponsored by Khushhalibank Ltd, OBS, First Women Bank Ltd, Burj Bank, 21st Century, GSK, Atlas Asset Management Ltd, Hesco, JS Investments Ltd, et al.
Highlight of the event was when Malala Yousufzai was announced Khushhalibank Idol Award winner and her Award was accepted by her two friends Shazia Ramazan and Kainat Riaz, who had been injured alongside Malala and had flown to Karachi with their families for this special occasion. Both girls were done up with hair and make-up by Shamain and wore Joras by Adnan Pardesy and Aisha Alam.
Among many other gifts, they each received Rs 103,500 of which Rs 50,000 was in Ladiesfund units of Dawood Islamic Fund managed by Dawood Capital Management Ltd, as savings for their education and if they want to start a business. Other highlights included the People’s Choice Awards. OUP MD Ameena Saiyid winning Woman of the Year, Azra Ahmed winning Momentum and Nida Butt receiving Trailblazer. Nida arrived just after the ceremony ended but managed to pose with her plaque over tea.
All winners received a plaque, a Ladiesfund investment certificate, a Threads & Motifs fabric, Heavenly Regalia jewellery, Taneez Jewellery, a Snob.com membership card, a Ladiesfund membership card, a Burj Bank gift, an OBS gift, a painting from Majmua Art Gallery and a Rivaj Crafts marble piece.
