Shazia hails journalists’ role for democracy
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Shazia Atta Marri said on Saturday that the role of the journalists for the restoration of democratcy is unforgettable and laudable. ”Journalits upheld the flag of truth and democracy in tought times.
Organising entertainment programmes and ceremonies for journalists and their familes is a positive act. The programes like family gala are really encouraging because they provide entertainment facility to the journalists and their children. The government will take every possible step for the solution to the problems faced by media men, she said this while talking to media after launch of family gala organised by Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoor) and Karachi Press Club .
President Karachi Press Club Tahir Hassan Khan, General Secretary Moosa Kaleem, President Karachi Union of Journalists Amir Latif, General Secretary Naeem Tahir, former general secretary Mohammad Rizwan Bhatti, Nasrullah Chaudhry Raja Kamran, Mohammad Munisif, Mohammad Nabeel and Yasir Babar were also present on the occasion. Later, the provincial minister visited different stalls set up at Family Gala 2011 and congratulated the Karachi Press CLub and Karachi Union of Journalists for making best arrangements for the journalists and their families. She also assured them of supporting in this connection,Various charming programes, including food street, playland, majic show, quiz and lucky draw were arranged at the family gala programe.
Special programes for children like face painting, magic show and sports contest were also held that facinated children and visitors.A lot of prizes were distributed at the programme. For women, ring stalls, musical chair, free gift and jewellery stalls were set up. Different food items, juices and tea and bewereges were also arranged for vistors.
