ECP appoints ROs for non-Muslim, women’s reserved seats
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Saturday appointed returning officers for the reserved seats for non-Muslims and women in the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies.
According to the Election Commission press release, Muhammad Imtiaz Alam, DG (Admn), Islamabad, has been appointed returning officer for non-Muslims in the National Assembly. Provincial Election Commissioner, Punjab, SM Tariq Qadri has been appointed RO for the seats reserved for women and non-Muslims in the National Assembly and the Punjab assembly. Mehboob Anwar, who is Provincial Election Commissioner, Sindh, is RO for NA and Sindh Assembly while Sono Khan Baloch, Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, RO for NA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
Likewise, Provincial Election Commissioner, Balochistan, Syed Sultan Bayazeed has been appointed as RO for NA and Balochistan Assembly’s reserved seats for non-Muslims and women. All political parties, intending to contest the general election are required to submit priority lists of their candidate to returning officers concerned for the seats reserved for women and non-Muslims in the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies from March 24 to March 29. The candidates in the priority lists of the political parties are also needed to submit their nomination forms to the respective ROs from March 24 to March 29.
