Vajpayee ridicules Musharraf for linking India to journalist’s kidnap
NEW DELHI- Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on Sunday poured scorn on President Pervez Musharraf’s allegation that India may be involved in the kidnapping of American journalist Daniel Pearl.
“Musharraf is trying to shift his own blame on to India by making such an allegation,” Vajpayee told an election rally gathering at Bathinda town in the northern state of Punjab.
“It is Pakistan which is giving shelter to such criminals and helping them commit crimes,” the prime minister said.
“New Delhi will start criminal proceedings against these people as they are involved in grave offences such as murder,” the prime minister said.
