SMIU and NBP sign MoU for scholarships

Karachi: The Sindh Madressat-ul-Islam University (SMIU) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, according to which the bank will allocate Rs2.88 million for four consecutive years as scholarship fee for 20 meritorious SMIU students.

The MoU was signed by the vice-chancellor, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, and the executive vice president and divisional head (corporate social responsibility depart-ment) of the NBP, Ovais Asad Khan.

During the ceremony, Dr Shaikh appreciated the role of NBP for the cause of education and said that the national and multi-national organizations present in the country, should also assist the students coming from humble socio- economic background through their corporate sector responsibility programme.
