Six civilians killed, girls’ school destroyed in Swat
MINGORA: Six civilians were killed and 18 others injured in Kabal, Bishbanr and Chuprial areas of the volatile Swat Valley on Tuesday as security forces continued pounding the suspected positions of Fazlullah-led Taliban. The security forces and militants exchanged heavy fire in Totano Bandai and Deolai areas of Kabal during troops’ advance. The suspected locations of the Taliban were shelled but there was no casualty of the militants. However, two mortar shells landed on two houses and another hit some labourers working on the bank of the river. As a result, three persons identified as Sultanat, Nadir Khan and Said Rahman alias Mano were killed on the spot while 12 others seriously wounded.
