LARKANA: Karo-kari took life of a woman at the hands of her father and brother while police were quick enough to sense the spoil and booked both but could apprehend only the latter.
Shazia Khuhro was murdered on Thursday night in sleep while her family, to cover crime said that she was shot dead by armed men who entered the house after scaling wall, an account, Akil police did not believe.
ASI Ali Gohar Janveri registered an FIR on behalf of the state at Akil police station against the deceased’s father and brother, Hidayatullah Khuhro and Khalid Khuhro, respectively.Police arrested the deceased’s brother Khalid Khuhro but father escaped.
SHO Imam Bakhsh Lashari said that the accused being influential were pressurising registration of FIR as per their statement.
He said that primary investigation pointed towards the involvement of father and son.
Our Nawabshah correspondent adds: A young woman and a 60-year-old man were shot dead in village Mian Bux Magsi, within the jurisdiction of taluka police station Nawabshah, on the charges of karo-kari.
According to reports, accused Mohammad Hassan Magsi shot dead a 60-year-old man, Din Mohammad Magsi, for having illicit relations with her sister. Later, he also killed his sister Noor Bano, 18. Police have arrested the accused who confessed his crime.
