SIALKOT: Renowned local journalist of The News (Lahore) Ilyas Ahmad Awan died of heart attack on Wednesday here.

He was 58. During his lifetime Ilyas worked for the welfare of journalist community and for the promotion of free journalism.

Meanwhile, people belonging to different walks of life including the journalist community of Sialkot have condoled the sudden death of Ilyas Ahmad Awan.

Paying rich tributes they said that Ilyas Ahmad was a man of principle and highlighted peoples problems impartially.

The members of business community of Sialkot have also condoled the death of Ilyas Ahmad Awan.
