Young comperes awarded for talent hunt discovery

ISLAMABAD: Over 40 young comperes received awards and certificates on completion of two-day compering workshop under Talent Hunt programme of Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Thursday.

PNCA Director General Tauqeer Nasir distributed certificates among the participants for their performance during the workshop that was organised by the PNCA in collaboration with Ministry of National Heritage and Integration.

The talent discovery project was initiated for Talent Bank of PNCA in which a large number of students and youth participate on regular basis.

Experts conduct the workshops in the field of singing, dancing, compering, drama and dialogue while the PNCA gives opportunities to the participants to perform in different programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, Tauqeer Nasir said the basic idea behind this programme was to utilise the energy of youth at a level of exploration with a proper platform for supporting their inner abilities. Youngsters selected from various workshops under the talent hunt are also given chance to perform in the field of performing arts, he added.

The programme is an attempt to explore hidden talent of children, students, youngsters and local artists for promoting and preserving the rich culture of the country as well as to refine the talent of students.

From singing to compering, drama acting and dancing, various workshops and training courses have been organised by the PNCA under this programme for children and youngsters to express themselves with some techniques that help build their personalities and entertain the audience, he said.
