Writers congress to hold moots
LAHORE- The international Congress of Writers, “Artists and Intellectuals has decided to hold three conferences in Europe and one in Pakistan during the current year.
This was stated by congress secretary-general Fakhar Zaman on his return after attending a conference at the Rhodes Island, Greece, which was sponsored jointly by the JNESCO and the Writers Union of Three Seas (Baltic, Black Sea and he Mediterranean).
The conference, according to Mr Zaman, underscored the need for peace and promotion of culture and expressed concern over the increasing threat to peace. He gave the East’s view on the subject being the solitary representative from Asia.
According to Mr Zaman, the world conference in Pakistan would discuss culture in an area of globalization. The conference at the Rhodes Island endorsed the Islamabad Declaration, which was issued at the end of an international seminar in 1995.
