Workshop on social media awareness held

KARACHI – Newly-elected Senator Barrister Farogh Naseem has said that education and training polish the talents of human beings, so this is must to train government servants to get better performance from them.

He was addressing to participants of a workshop on Social Media Awareness held by City Institute of Image Management KMC. He said Internet, cable transmissions and social websites have brought revolution in all over the world and the whole world including our own society was presently captured by this change due to awareness of social media. Prominent journalist Mujahid Barelvi highlighted the importance and effectiveness of social media in the lights of his own experiences. CIIM Director Muhammad Shahid pointed out that the institute was a subsidiary of KMC that imparts training to its employees on different subjects. So far more than 160 workshops and courses were held for employees, he added.

Polio campaign from 14th: Polio campaign is going to be kicked off from March 14 instead of March 12 in Sindh province to administer polio vaccine drops to 6.5 million children aging up to five year old.

Director of Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) Sindh chapter Dr Mazhar Khamisani told that it was decided to start the polio campaign on March 12 but now it would commence from March 14.

On the other hand GAVI Vaccinators had locked cold chain store situated at IIT Depot and stopped delivery of polio vaccine to various towns of Karachi in protest against non-payment of their salaries which was ended after Secretary Health assured them to release the salaries in a month.

Chairman Vaccination welfare Association, Junaid Ahmed Shah told that though they are going to participate in the campaign, but if their demands were not met they could lock the cold storage again.
