Workshop for journalist begins
HYDERABAD – The Vice ChanÂcellor University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has said that there is need to involve the rural masses in the planning and management of the development plans.
He was speaking as the Chief Guest in the inaugural session of 5-day Workshop for the rural journalists organised in joint venÂture by the Department of Mass Communication, Center for RuÂral Development CommunicaÂtion (CRDC) in collaboration with the International Institute for Journalism (IIJ) of Germany.
The VC Sindh University said that journalists are most imporÂtant part of any society. He said that the communication is natuÂral part of every day interaction with people and stressed that there is need to involve the masses from the grass root level towards decisions for the deÂvelopment of the society.
He said that the Journalists are the unacknowledged legislaÂtors and representatives of the rural masses and added that the people in the rural Sindh are passing through extremely painful times and are being subÂject to many hardships, humiliations and agonies.
It is the responsibility of journalists to create awareness among the people,he said.
