Woman, son murdered over enmity
KARACHI – Three persons, including a young woman and her infant son, were shot dead in separate incidents here on Wednesday.
Deceased Saira was the daughter-in-law of a former MPA. Police believed that Zain Afzal, the husband of the ill-fated woman, was behind the murder of his wife and son.
The incident took place at the victims’ house at Nazimabad No 1, said DSP Chaudhry Boota.
Dead bodies of deceased Saira and her son, Khalid, have been handed over to their family after autopsy at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. DSP Boota said that police have found two shells of bullets from the scene. Accused Zain’s father Afzal Anwar, a former MQM MPA, died nearly five years ago.
The old-aged wife of Anwar and her son Kashan lived in the upper floor of the house while her other son accused Zain along with his wife and son were living at the ground floor, said SHO Aurangzaib.
Saira and Zain had love marriage without the permission of their families almost four years ago and she had given birth to a son some 40 days ago, added DSP Boota.
He disclosed that accused Zain had spent sometime in Afghanistan and was under observation of the law-enforcement agencies.
Nowadays he was jobless and had clashed with his wife several times.
