Woman protests against police, ex-husband

NAUSHAHROFEROZE: A woman, along with her three minor children and aged father, staged a protest against her ex-husband and the area police here on Thursday.

The woman, Rukhsana Brohi, reached the city from village Ghazi Khan Waswano along with her three children, three-to-five-year old, and aged father to protest against her ex-husband Gul Muhammad Brohi who, according to her, was harassing her and her family with the connivance of police.

Talking to newsmen, the woman said she had married Gul Mohammed Brohi seven years ago.

However, due to domestic disputes, she filed a petition in the family court of Naushahroferoze for divorce, she said.

The court decided in her favour and also ordered the children – two sons and one daughter – be given in her custody.

Rukhsana said her former husband was now blackmailing her and harassing her family by filing fake cases with the help of police.

She appealed to Sindh chief minister, inspector general police, Sindh, and other authorities concerned to take notice of her predicament and save her life.

She also appealed for ending all the fake cases lodged by her former husband against her father and brother.
