We are better off without TV

ON the morning of August 14, I found the TV channels and service down due to load-shedding.

As the day passed till the time of Iftar, I realised that during the whole day my father and my Dada found more time to devote to our family; I found myself spending more time reading useful educational articles and reciting the Holy Book with translation as well.

It occurred to me then that if movies, dramas, cartoons are banned for good, how much will our dear homeland save energy and help its economy strengthen, instead of the declining trade parameters?

The former traditional television schedule in the days of yore was ideal as it assigned only specific hours for all sorts of programmes, including dramas, educational serials, cartoons, and a film once in a month.
