UNICEF awards prizes among journalists for fight against polio
Unicef awarded journalist with their certificates and cash prizes regarding their utmost services against the polio virus in Balochistan .
UNICEF in collaboration with director general of public relation (DPR) government of Balochistan organized best photo feature column and video report contest s to submit their pieces of work with the panel comprising health experts, UNICEF and DPR officials.
Journalist from across the province participated by sending selective photos, features, columns and videos in the competition.
After through deliberation and scrutiny of the stuff, the winners of all the categories were announced by the panel during a ceremony chaired by the Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Ghous Bux barozai at Serena Hotel.
Secretary information Qamar Masood Commissioner Quetta, Usman Gul, Dupety Commsssoner Mansoor Kakar ,Director General DPR Kamran Asad and representatives o f UNICEF Ms. Masooma Qurban and media experts were also present.
According to the decision of panel, Irfan Baig, clinched first position in Urdu feature writing, and column category and Irshad Mastohi second and Rafiq Mandohkail third. Ahmed khan was declared first in type of English feature, Abdul Shakoor second and Zafar Baloch stood third.
In video category, Seema Kanwal got first position, Jala Noorzai won second position, Sadia was declared third while first position in the type of photo went Mateeullah Achakzi.
Naseer Ahmed clinched second and Muhammad Naseer got third position. Ghous Bux Barozai gave away certificates to the winners.
