Urdu daily ‘Aaj Kal’ honours newspaper vendors in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Urdu daily ‘Aaj Kal’, the sister publication of Daily Times, is set for launch soon and make a tremendous mark in the Urdu newspapers’ arena with its different, innovative and fresh approach.
In this regard, a colourful and memorable ceremony was organised in honour of the Anjuman-e-Akhbar Faroshan Hyderabad on Tuesday which was attended by Media Times Sales and Marketing Director Nasir Khan, Aaj Kal Editor Khalid Chaudary, Karachi Resident Editor Fazil Jamili, Marketing General Manager Arif Shuaib, Daily Times Marketing General Manager Shahid Sheikh, Aaj Kal Circulation Manager Raja Shahid, Daily Times Circulation Manager Shabbaz Akhtar, office-bearers of the Anjuman-e-Akhbar Faroshan Amir Afzaal and Zahoor Ahmed and a large number of newspaper vendors.
On the occasion, Sales and Marketing Director Nasir Khan praised the efforts of the newspaper vendors, who sacrifice their sleep to ensure newspapers every morning. Chuadhry said that Aaj Kal that people receive their Aaj Kal Editor Khalid would be the country’s first newspaper that would focus on the point of view and issues of the common man. He praised the newspaper vendors for their dedication towards their work.
Aaj Kal Resident Editor Fazil Jamili said that Aaj Kal has laid its first foot in Sindh in Hyderabad, which shows that this city is being given extraordinary significance. On the occasion, a lucky draw to give away 25 bicycles to newspaper vendors was planned, but after witnessing the enthusiasm and love expressed by newspaper vendors, the Media Times sales and marketing director decided to increase the number of bicycles to 40. Newspaper vendors were overjoyed and warmly applauded this move, chanting ‘Aaj Kal Zindabad’. Anjuman-e-Akhbar wishes to Aaj Kal.
