Ulema issue Fatwa on Frontier Post, Jasarat
PESHAWAR- Twenty-one prominent Ulema have signed a Fatwa, exonerating daily Jasarat from the act of blasphemy and demanded with drawl of an First Information Report (FIR) against the paper and police from its local bureau office.
The Ulema demanded release of innocent The Frontier Post staffers and arrest of real culprits in order to try and punish them under the law.
Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, provincial leader of Jamiat Ittehad-i-Ulema, NWFP, flanked by a number of Ulema, said that the reaction of the people against publication of blasphemous letter in The Frontier Post was natural.
