KARACHI- Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) after launch of service in Islamabad and Lahore is launching Ufone mobile service in Karachi, inauguration ceremony at the Sindh Governor House.

Sindh Governor Muhammadmian Soomro would inaugurate the service at the ceremony to be attended also by Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Ataur Rehman and others.

Chief Executive Ufone, Arshad Khan at a press briefing said that Ufone was proceeding with all its plans and the company was introducing service for Karachi. He expected Ufone would meet all targets.

After adding 25,000 customers in less than two months, Ufone started service in Lahore adding to number of mobile subscribers in Islamabad and Lahore to 45,000 since its start, he said.

The customer-friendly tariffs, introduction of pre-paid cards valid for six months, ‘no line-rent’ option, invested in one-of-its-kind call center in the country and introduction of WAP, the internet access on mobile phone, have enabled Ufone to achieve its targets.

The tariffs for Karachi would be the same as offered at the start of Ufone operation. Tariff-packages were designed to cater to the common man and the corporate sector alike. Special packages for specific segments will follow soon which would enable customers to creatively customize their tariffs to suit their budgets and need, he added.

Arshad said Ufone Service in Karachi would commence with 15 full service outlets geared to meet all customer needs and demand. These outlets cover the entire city with the objective to meet the customer’s need.
