Two rapists held
SAHIWAL — Yousafwala police claimed on November 17, to have arrested two of the three alleged rapists and killers of a girl student in Chak 72/5-L.
Reports said Shah Sarwar along with his two accomplices Muhammad Ashraf and Qurban brought ‘K’ to his house on August 22 this year. He sent his bother ‘B’ for shopping. Later, they gang raped the girl, hanged her body with the ceiling and coloured the incident as suicide.
The police in connivance with the accused declared the death accidental under Section 174.
The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the Punjab IG who asked the district police officer for action. Accordingly, a case was registered on November 9, under section 302-34 of the PPC and 10(3) of the Hudood Ordinance.
The police arrested Ashraf and Sarwar when they were about to board a bus to Yousufwala Adda on November 17. Qurban is still at large.
