Two police officials detained in rape case
KHAIRPUR: An SHO and a policeman were sent behind the bars on Thursday on the charge of raping a woman in Sukkur.
The woman, Sonia, who met DIG Sukkur Bashir Ahmed Memon, claimed that SHO B-Section Abdul Majeed Khilji had illegally arrested her and demanded rupees 20,000 for her release. She maintained that when she agreed to pay the money she was released to bring the said amount and hand it over to the accused in a rest house.
She added that when she visited the said place, the SHO and a cop Inayat raped her and threatened her of dire consequences if she spoke about the incident. DIG Police, Sukkur, after investigation issued orders for registration of FIRs against the accused police officials. Later, the SHO and the cop were arrested and the police started investigation.
