Two arrested for raping, strangling woman
LAHORE: Shahdara Town police arrested two suspects on Monday a couple of hours after they strangled a woman after raping her in her house in Qaiser Town in Shahdara.
The victim ‘Z’ was the wife of oil-tanker driver Imran and the mother of four.
The Shahdara Town station house officer (SHO) told Dawn accused Shahid, victim’s nephew, and Ali entered the house of Imran around 12 noon when his wife was alone. After overpowering the woman, both of them raped her and fled after strangulating her.
Her four children reached their house and raised an alarm when they found their mother dead.
The SHO said accused Shahid was taken into custody from Shahdara Mor while Ali from Javed Park.
He claimed that both the accused had confessed to the murder. He said a chemical examination of the body would determine the rape factor.
