TV channel issued notices for airing immoral programme
LAHORE: The Pemra Council of Complaints on Friday recommended imposition of fine on two cable operators and cancelling the licences of five others in Multan region over violating the rules and regulations.
The meeting chaired by Justice Farrukh Mehmood heard 24 complaints and announced written verdict. It issued a show-cause notice to a TV channel, ARY Zindagi, for airing immoral programme.
The recommendation to impose a fine of Rs 15,000 on two cable operators was made over changing the management without any approval. Cancelling the licences of five others was proposed for shutting their network without permission. Justice Farrukh ordered all the cable operators to digitalise their system within the stipulated period and recommended strict action in case of a failure.
