Tribute to Fakhri

LAHORE: Various artistes paid rich tributes to renowned artiste Jamil Fakhri, who passed away a few weeks back, for his acting skills and loving human nature.

To pay rich tributes to the artist, a special condolence reference was organized by a literary organization, ‘Yaadain”, at Alhamra Hal-III, The Mall on Wednesday, with Punjab Evacuee Trust Property Board chairman Syed Asif Hashmi in the chair. Attaul Haq Qasmi, Chairman Lahore Arts Council, and many renowned artists of the country paid rich tributes to great artist Jamil Fakhri for his services for stage, film and television world, and for his loving and caring attitude towards his fellow artists.

Asif Hashmi promised to name Qila Lakshman Singh Chowk after Jamil Fakhri and give Rs.500,000. He also gave assurance to arrange the aritist’s family’s meeting with the prime minister.

Khawar Naeem Hashmi, a renowned senior journalist, Asim Bukhari, Shujaat Hashmi, Hamid Rana, Sheeba Butt, Afzal Shahid, Jamil Fakhri’s son Ali Shahbaz Fakhri among others said that there was a great need to respect the artists who had protect the ideological frontiers of the country.
