Tribute paid to late journalist

HYDERABAD: Press Club Hyderabad held a condolence meeting to eulogise the services of late senior journalist Muhammad Bux Johar who expired in Karachi last week.

The condolence meeting was chaired by club president Mahesh Kumar and was attended by a large number of journalists. Those who paid homage to late Muhammad Bux Johar included Mahesh Kumar, secretary general HPC Hamid Rehman, Lala Rehman Samoon, Abbas Kasser, Ahmed Khan Shaikh, Sain Laiq, Iqbal Mallah, Hamid Shaikh, Ishaq Mangrio, Rashid Shafi, Imdad Soomro, Arshad Ansari, Mansoor Mari, Ashraf Pappi, Shiraz Bhatti and Haroon Arain. Muhammad Bux Johar had been in jouranlism for more than 45 years. He worked as editor of daily Hilal Pakistan and daily Aftab.

His editorials were so powerful on Sindh issues that people pasted his editorials on the walls of city. He was man of principles and never compromised on them. He also wrote many books and had to his credit translations of Greek mythology books. Johar retired from active journalism a decade ago when Sindhi daily Aftab was closed down.
