Traffic police start SMS facility

Pakistan Press Foundation

Karachi: The Karachi traffic police have launched a short messaging service (SMS) to keep people updated on the prevailing traffic situation.

The service was planned by the former deputy inspector general traffic Abdul Khalique Sheikh.

The SMS facility will help the commuters to keep track of vehicular traffic flow on various main roads.

The helpline would advise the people to adopt any alternate way in case of any congestion or road blocks.

Anyone can avail the service by writing “T” in and sending the message to 8655.

The reply will be received within a minute.

To improve the service, traffic police have asked users to send suggestions at [email protected] or by dialing 1915.
