Three terrorists linked to RAW held in Lahore

LAHORE: Lahore Police in cooperation with intelligence agencies have arrested three terrorists who were working as agents of the Indian intelligence agency RAW and were involved in different terrorist activities in the provincial capital.

Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervaiz Rathore revealed this during a press conference at the Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, on Thursday. The CCPO said a meeting of senior police officers was held to devise a strategy for countering terrorist activities, including suicide bombings and planting of explosive material, in different cities of the country.

He said in this regard, DIG The CCPO said the arrested terrorists during investigation confessed to their involvement in smuggling across the border from Pakistan to India. Terrorists have further confessed that during their visits to India, they had managed in establishing contacts with the RAW. He said RAW officials used to help the terrorists in crossing the border from gate number 139. They confessed that they had connections with the officers of RAW including Kumar, Bakhshi, Chupra, Vijay, bomb expert Mehta, Chaudhry Parteeb, Sharma and driver Maan.

They have further confessed that they visited the office of RAW at Ranjeet Avenue private society Amritsar, India. The CCPO, while answering a query, said the terrorists had crossed the border to India about 6 to 7 times but the Pakistan Rangers failed to arrest them because of the involvement of the Indian Border Security Forces, which opened gate number 139 after checking the schedule of patrolling of Pakistan Rangers along the border.
