Three killed to save ‘honour’ in Dera
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In an honour-related triple murder case, a couple and another person were killed whereas two others including an infant received serious injuries at Muryali area here on Sunday, police said.
The couple — Ijaz Kanera and his wife Ghazala — had contracted love marriage against the wishes of the family of the female. They had a six-month-old infant named Abu Bakar.
Family members told police that the woman belonged to a Baloch tribe and they were annoyed with the marriage. They said that five armed men entered the house of the couple and opened indiscriminate fire which resulted in the death of Ijaz, Ghazala, and a cousin of Ijaz named Imran.
The infant, Abu Bakar, and Tasawar, brother of Ijaz, received serious injuries. They were taken to the hospital and later Abu Bakar was shifted to Multan for further treatment.
FIR of the case was registered at Cantt Police Station against unidentified persons.
