Three killed over Karo-Kari

SUKKUR: Three people, including a woman, were gunned down by a man on Tuesday morning over Karo-Kari in the Ameer Bux Solangi Village in the Machko Police limits on the Sindh-Punjab border near Ubauro.

The accused suspected that his wife Mai Kundal had formed illicit relations with Arz Mohammad Gopang. He shot dead his wife and later raided the house of rz, killing Arz and his brother Allah Dad Gopang on the spot.

No case was registered till the filing of this report against the accused, who is absconding.

In a separate incident, two brothers and their cousin were gunned down by armed persons over an old land dispute in a village in the Ghora Ghat police station jurisdiction near Kandhkot on Monday night.

A group of armed Sabzoi tribesmen raided the village of Hakim Ali Sawand and opened indiscriminate fire, killing brothers Abdul Jabbar Sawand and Mohammad Umer Sawand and their cousin Qadir Dad Sawand on the spot before fleeing.

Sabzoi and Sawand tribesmen have been fighting each other over a land dispute for the last four months. The bloody clashes during the period have claimed eight lives from either tribe. No case has been registered so far.

Our Khairpur correspondent adds: Two persons were wounded in separate incidents here on Monday.

Habibullah Ansari of Mohalla Kalery, Pir-Jo-Goth, was wounded when Zubair, Zohaib and others attacked him with axes over a plot dispute. In another case, unidentified armed men barged into the house of Ghulam Sarwar Channo in Tunia Village. On resistance, the dacoits opened fire on the house inmates, injuring Ghulam Sarwar Channo before fleeing.
