Three killed over free will marriage
MIRPURKHAS: An elderly woman, her son and a relative were killed by armed men in Walo Shar village in the Phuladiyoon area on Sunday.
The assailants barged into the house of Moula Bux Shar with the intention of killing him. His mother Saleha Shar and relative Ali Hassan Shar intervened.
One of the assailants opened fire, killing Saleha and Ali Hassan and injuring Moula Bux who died on way to a hospital in Hyderabad.
The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
Police carried out raids and arrested Hayat Shar and Lal Din Shar. However no case was lodged till the evening.
Moula Bux had married Ameena Shar 14 months ago against the wishes of her parents, angering elders of both the families who had decided to hold a reconciliatory meeting to settle the dispute.
In another incident a young man was killed and another was injured in Rahim Nagar here on Sunday.
A group of men opened fire at Mehboob Magsi and Shahid, killing Mehboob and injuring Shahid.
After the incident, dozens of armed people took to the streets. A heavy contingent of police was deployed at main roads and roundabouts to avert any armed clash.
No case was registered till the evening. The area people linked the attack to a dispute between some members of the Magsi and Pathan communities.
