Three held for blackmailing girl with videos
The FIA Cyber Crime Circle claimed on Monday to have solved a harassment case by arresting three suspects allegedly involved in blackmailing a girl.
The spokesperson for FIA Sindh said the agency had received a complaint by the girl who said some men had been harassing her because they had some computer content related to her.
Raids was conducted under the direction of the cybercrime deputy director at different places in Karachi in which all the three suspects identified by the girl were arrested. The suspects were identified as Abdul Rafay, Osama Zulfiqar and Ehtasham Jillani. The computer content was also secured from digital devices possessed by the suspects.
During the investigations, it was revealed that Zulfiqar, who had befriended the girl, recorded her obscene videos and pictures and in connivance with Zufiqar blackmailed her to receive extortion money from her.
The two suspects later transferred the files to Rafay who made a fake Facebook account and contacted the girl to blackmail her but the timely raid prevented him to go ahead with his plan. A case was registered against the suspects under the sections 20, 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
