Three Assistant Sub-Inspectors(ASIs) suspended for torturing journalists
LARKANA- Three Assistant Sub-1nspectors (ASIs) of Market police station, Larkana were suspended for arresting and torturing two journalists.
A mobile police of Market police station arrested one Shahzad, the son of Ashiq Pathan, Correspondent Daily Din and tortured him. On the information of the arrest, Ashiq Pathan and his brother Mehmood Pathan, Correspondent Daily Awam, rushed to the police station and enquired about the reasons for the arrest. The ASIs present in the police station, locked up both of them and also tortured them.
The office bearers of the Press Club reacted strongly to the incident and on their demand the SSP Larkana Dr Amir Ahmad Shaikh suspended all the three ASIs, including ASI Farooq Sanjarani and ASI Shabbir Larik and appointed DSP City Nisar Channa to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
