Therapy Works Chief Executive Officer seeks ban on media coverage of Noor murder case

Islamabad – Therapy Works Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Tahir Zahoor, an accused in Noor Mukaddam murder case, filed a plea in the court through his lawyer on Wednesday seeking a ban on media reporting of the case.

The lawyer also pleaded the court to issue order to PEMRA to stop media from coverage of Noor murder case. Meanwhile, Asad Jamal Advocate, who is contesting the case on behalf of Asmat Adam Jee, mother of Zahir Zakir Jaffar, and counsels of other accused also filed applications with the court for ordering inquiry against leakage of CCTV footage in the case. Asmat Adam Jee’s lawyer asked court to provide his client the CCTV footages of crime scene.

Additional Sessions Judge Atta Rabbani has reserved the verdict after receiving the applications.

Likewise, the court also reserved its verdict on an application of summoning two more witnesses of prosecution.

When ASJ Atta Rabbani took up Noor murder case, the prosecution produced a witness namely Muhammad Jabbir whose statement was recorded by the court. The defense lawyers completed the cross examination of the witness of prosecution.

During the hearing of case, all the accused including Zahir Zakir Jaffar, Zakir Jaffar, Asmat Adam Jee and others were also present in the courtroom.

The prime accused Zahir Zakir Jaffar refused to sign the power of attorney. Public prosecutor Sheryar Nawaz Khan appeared before court to contest case on behalf of prime accused.

The court postponed hearing till 1 December 2021 in Noor murder case. So far, statements of 11 witnesses have been recorded before the court.
