The Sindh High Court (SHC) dismissed the application of a cable TV operator against non-validation of its license by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra). Four Aces cable TV operator, who is running the network in North Nazimabad, , submitted that PEMRA was not issuing it fresh license for telecasting the satellite TV channels. The PEMRA counsel, Kashif Hanif, argued that application could not be entertained by the court, that it was not maintainable as the petitioner did not approach the appropriate remedy under Rule 23 of the relevant law to redress its grievance. The SHC’s single bench comprising Justice Dr Rana Mohammad Shamim, after hearing the case, dismissed the application as not maintainable, directing the petitioner to approach the appropriate remedy to redress its grievances.
